symbolic meaning
An early circular ichthys symbol, created by combining the Greek letters ΙΧΘΥΣ, Ephesus.
ΙΧΘΥΣ (Ichthys) is an acronym for “Ἰησοῦς Χριστός, Θεοῦ Υἱός, Σωτήρ”, (Iēsous Christos, Theou Yios, Sōtēr), which translates into English as “Jesus Christ, God’s Son, Savior”.
Iota (i) is the first letter of Iēsous (Ἰησοῦς), Greek for “Jesus”.
Chi (ch) is the first letter of Christos (Χριστός), Greek for “anointed”.
Theta (th) is the first letter of Theou (Θεοῦ), Greek for “God’s”, the genitive case of Θεóς, Theos, Greek for “God”.
Ypsilon (y) is the first letter of (h)yios (Υἱός), Greek for “Son” (the initial “h” was pronounced in classical Greek but has long been silent).
Sigma (s) is the first letter of sōtēr (Σωτήρ), Greek for “Savior”.
Historians say the 20th-century use of the ichthys motif is an adaptation based on an Early Christian symbol which included a small cross for the eye or the Greek letters “ΙΧΘΥΣ”.
An ancient adaptation of ichthys is a wheel which contains the letters ΙΧΘΥΣ superimposed such that the result resembles an eight-spoked wheel.

This MILLTONE tunable steel tongue drum is Model 5GR-HSLVR-787. It coincides with FAA approval of Boeing’s new airplane after years of development and testing. 
It is hard to imagine what it takes to build a state of the art giant jet plane and it took all of Boeing’s resources to pull it off. Now that it has been cleared for delivery to customers Boeing has the enormous task of building enough planes to satisfy the 600 or so orders on hand. With greater fuel efficiency and safety the new 787 aircraft will benefit everyone flying them. This MILLTONE would make a wonderful gift to a 787 captain or crew member. These hand drums have been proven to help reduce stress and have a relaxing, calming effect on those playing and listening to the soothing tones. A great way to unwind after a long flight or help mitigate jet-lag during layovers. Anyway, this will most likely be another one of a kind instrument featuring Hammered Silver, with Boeing’s logo in blue inside the sound port. We can make more if requested but this one will always be the only true number 787.
