Jeff Harvey has been making music over 30 years with a wide variety of instruments. He is currently working on a new album and using his custom MILLTONE fine tunable steel tongue drum in the process.

He was kind enough to send me a pre release sample of one track along with a description. Here is his email to me.

Hi Larry,Well, here’s the result of today’s work in the studio. I’ll pronounce it 95% complete, good enough to share. I’m playing all the instruments.

This is for a Spanish-Christian album I am recording entitled “El Evangelio Orgánico” or in English, “The Organic Gospel”… organic because I am using ethnic & unique instruments throughout, no electric guitars or fancy electronic effects (although I do love high-tech stuff too). All the songs are scripture based, with my world-infused interpretation. I have chosen to do the album in Spanish. Although it’s not my native language, it’s definitely my neighborhood.

The song I wrote on the Milltone is based on Psalms 135:5-7…

“I know the greatness of the Lord—that our Lord is greater than any other god. The Lord does whatever pleases him throughout all heaven and earth, and on the seas and in their depths. He causes the clouds to rise over the whole earth. He sends the lightning with the rain and releases the wind from his storehouses.”

I’m almost certain the Milltone will make another appearance on the project, and of course I’ll be presenting the instrument live wherever I perform… I hope to have the production wrapped up and going to press by next summer.
